Features

  • POINT 1

    Naturally Derived and Safe Materials

    ◆Solidifying Agent:
A special high-strength magnesium oxide-based solidifying agent extracted from natural seawater
    ・Source of CO₂ immobilization
    ・High strength
    ・Lower alkalinity(pH≒10)compared to Portland cement
    →Reduces environmental impact
    ◆Water Retaining Agent:
A natural inorganic flocculant (“Kiyomaru-kun”) made from volcanic ash Shirasu.
・Creates an aggregate structure that easily captures CO₂
・Prevents gravity separation of raw materials due to its high flocculation capability
    ◆Base Material:
Natural sand, clay, recycled sand, short bamboo fibers, etc.
・High-quality sand and soil with well-graded particle size distribution
    ・No coloring agents

  • POINT 2

    Contribution to Carbon Neutrality

The magnesium oxide-based solidifying agent adsorbs and immobilizes CO₂ from the air.
Furthermore, by reducing CO₂ emissions during production, it aims to achieve carbon neutrality.

Mechanism of CO₂ Adsorption and Immobilization by "Zero Carbon Soil"

The hydration reaction begins when water is applied to "Zero Carbon Soil" initiating solidification.

When magnesium oxide that reacts with water, it turns into magnesium hydroxide, which is more effective at adsorbing and immobilizing CO₂ than magnesium oxide is.

While adsorbing and immobilizing atmospheric CO₂ (which is a major cause of global warming), it gradually turns into magnesium carbonate and achieves stable solidification.

CO₂ Reduction Effect Achieved by Using "Zero Carbon Soil"

In the current CO₂ adsorption and immobilization experiments for "Zero Carbon Soil," it has been confirmed that 60.9kg/㎥ of CO₂ is adsorbed and immobilized over a cumulative period of 900 hours in a 5% CO₂ concentration environment (experiment is ongoing). Since the CO₂ emissions during the manufacturing of 1㎥ of "Zero Carbon Soil" are 22kg/㎥, "Zero Carbon Soil" has currently achieved carbon neutrality.
*As of the end of July 2025

  • POINT 3

    Easy Installation

As a pre-mixed product, it solidifies simply by spreading, leveling, and watering.
Furthermore, it can be easily applied and repaired manually.
    *Spray application is also possible.

  • POINT 4

    High Durability

The magnesium oxide-based solidifying agent used in "Zero Carbon Soil" has been specially processed to enhance its durability and strength.
As a result, it exhibits extremely high compressive strength, flexural strength, and adhesion strength, as well as excellent flame retardance and wear resistance.
In addition, short bamboo fibers are compounded to prevent cracking and improve toughness.

  • POINT 5

    Reusability

Since "Zero Carbon Soil" contains no Portland cement or heavy metals, it can be reused as natural soil during renovations or dismantling.
*All 28 items tested under the Soil Environmental Standards (M.O.E. Notification No. 46) were below the quantitative limit.

  • POINT 6

A Countermeasure to the Urban Heat Island

The material is naturally permeable to water and has excellent water retention due to the inclusion of the natural inorganic flocculant ("Kiyomaru-kun"). As a result, it is expected to suppress the rise in road surface temperature. In fact, according to our company's research, the maximum road surface temperature of "Zero Carbon Soil" in summer outdoor conditions is 16.7℃ lower than that of an asphalt pavement.

  • POINT 7

    Shrinkage Resistance

Unlike Portland cement, the magnesium oxide-based solidifying agent does not shrink. Consequently, gaps are less likely to form, thereby prolonging the pavement's lifespan and enhancing its weed suppression effect.

  • POINT 8

    Aesthetic Appeal

Since the material uses naturally derived components, it achieves a natural texture that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
